The power to make a difference is in your hands. Just tap your finger on your mouse and join the Portland Green Power Challenge.

This month the city of Portland is calling on people and businesses to support renewable energy as part of the country’s largest community challenge to encourage participation in renewable energy programs.

According to Green Mountain Energy Company, which supplies green power for Portland General Electric and Pacific Power, the goal of the Portland Challenge is to generate 1,000 new sign-ups by September 30, solidifying Portland’s primacy as the nation’s leader in clean energy.

Friends of Trees will receive a $25 donation for each person who enrolls for renewable power by September 30. Be sure to indicate that you’re a Friends of Trees referral in the field provided on the PGE sign-up form or the Pacific Power sign-up form.
