The power of trees
Thirty-eight trees will add shade this summer around the PGE-Pacific Power joint substation at SE 8th Ave. and Harrison St.
On May 26, Friends of Trees joined PGE, Pacific Power, Portland’s Bureau of Environmental Services and Verde to plant Rocky Mountain Glow Maples, Hawthorns, Prairiefire Crabapples, and Flowering Pears as part of the city’s Grey to Green Initiative.
Pictured in the slide show below are the planting team from Verde and (from left to right) Debbie Castleton of BES, Larry McDowell of PGE, Sheila Holden of Pacific Power, and Brighton West of Friends of Trees.
