If you’re reading this post, you’ve probably been to one of our plantings and heard us talk about the amazing number of trees our volunteers have helped us plant over the years. Did this make you wonder why we place so much value in trees, or what exactly the benefits of community-based tree plantings are?

If so you may be interested in reading our 2011-12 Grey-to-Green Annual Report. The report was created to reflect the spirit and statistics of our Neighborhood Trees’ 2011-12 planting season, in which our volunteers helped us plant and care for over 5,800 trees in Portland neighborhoods.

What do you get when you plant with FOT?

These trees are just a portion of those that we plant in the Portland, Vancouver, Beaverton, Eugene and Salem areas, but they reflect the lengths we will go to in order to build communities, create partnerships, and train citizens on how to care for their urban forest.

On Page 22 (click image on left) we provide a list of all that you get when you plant with Friends of Trees.

Special thanks to our partners at the Bureau of Environmental Services for their dedication to seeing our program succeed.
