Last chance to become a crew leader this season

By Andy Meeks

We hope that 2013 is off to a healthy and happy start for you. We’re starting to hit the peak months of our planting season, and we’re seeking volunteers who also want to be leaders. If you’re interested in joining the Tree Team to guide groups of volunteers and plant trees at our Green Space Initiative or Neighborhood Trees planting events, you’re in luck!

Our Mid-Winter Crew Leader trainings are happening next week, and we still have some space left. This is your last chance to become a crew leader with us until November! Please read below for more details.

Pre-game: the crew leader huddle, Dec. 8, 2012 (Nancy Buley)
  • Green Space Initiative:  We have about 8 spots still available for our training on Saturday, January 26 from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm at Brown’s Ferry Park in Tualatin.
  • Neighborhood Trees:  We have about 10 spots still available for our training on Thursday, January 24 from 6:00 – 8:30 pm at Kaiser Town Hall in NE Portland.

We’re always looking for fun and enthusiastic people to join the Tree Team. We have over 350 active crew leaders in our planting programs, so you’ll be joining a large network of really great people! And we take good care of our volunteer leaders, too, with frequent happy hours, picnics, raffles and awards. Come find out what you’ve been missing!

We have plenty of planting events to go before we’re done planting this season in late April. You can take a look at all of our events on our online calendar. We hope to work with you this season!
