A great big “Thank You” to Portland Trail Blazer Marcus Camby, who came out and helped us plant trees along the I-205 Multi-Use Path near SE 94th and Schiller. Despite the threat of rain, we planted nearly 25 trees as part of the Blazers’ “Make it Better” program.

With a sponsorship from Christenson Electric and help from a huge number of young volunteers from the Portland Boys & Girls Club, Friends of Trees hosted a very special Friday planting to highlight all the great work being done to improve conditions along the I-205 Multi-Use Path.

Friends of Trees is planting more trees at the same location tomorrow morning (Saturday, March 19), and volunteers should plan to arrive at 8:45 a.m. to register and have a snack before the planting starts at 9 a.m. As a special enticement, we will be raffling off two sets of two tickets to Tuesday night’s game against the Washington Wizards! For more information about this, or any other planting, please check our online calendar.

Again, thank you to the Blazers, the Boys & Girls Club, Christenson Electric, and Portland OIC, many of whose students are helping us plant along the I-205 Multi-Use Path this year. And thank you to our partners in the three-year greening project, Metro and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
