We'd like to propose a toast…

Friends of Trees: The Year in Beer
When we started looking back at 2014, a few themes showed up: great volunteers, celebrating 25 years with friends and supporters, planting lots of trees… and beer. Beer showed up a lot. We think it’s fitting, then, that our last post of the year be about beer.

So we’d like to propose a toast:

  • to Ninkasi Brewing for debuting the Friends of Trees Pale Ale at our 25th anniversary gala in September, and contributing all profits from sales of this special beer back to our work.
  • to Ground Breaker Brewing for donating gluten free beer for our 25th celebration.
  • to Reverend Nat’s Hard Cider, because cider is the beer that grows on trees, and because they donated a keg for our volunteer appreciation event in April.
  • to Deschutes Brewery and Widmer Brothers Brewing for donating additional kegs so our volunteers could celebrate.
  • to the Oregon Public House for honoring us as one of its charities, and for generous patrons that allowed us to rock the top of the list of donations at the nation’s first nonprofit pub.
  • to Rainier Beer, which sponsored a neighborhood planting back in March.
  • to Breakside Brewery, which selected us as a beneficiary of their fourth birthday street party this summer and donated a keg to boot.
  • … and to Hopworks Urban Brewery, HOTLIPS Pizza + Soda, and The Lumberyard for rewarding Give!Guide donors to Friends of Trees (and because some of our supporters prefer soda).

And cheers to YOU! Thank you for all of your support in 2014—we are truly floored.Give today!

Also, today’s the LAST DAY to join the hundreds of others who’ve made 2014 year-end donations and get tasty rewards (including a pint!) by contributing to Friends of Trees via the Willamette Week Give Guide.

Happy New Year!
