Become a Harvest Leader!

Do you enjoy leading groups of people in fun, meaningful activities? Are you interested in leading harvesting parties this summer? Become a Portland Fruit Tree Project Harvest Leader!

Harvesting Parties bring people together to pick fruit that might otherwise go to waste, and make it available to people in need. Harvest Leaders co-lead harvesting parties along with another volunteer.  The Portland Fruit Tree Project provides all of the necessary training, materials, and support. You would be expected to commit to co-leading at least 5 harvesting parties between late July and late November.

The Portland Fruit Tree Project is a grass-roots non-profit organization that provides a community-based solution to a critical and growing need in Portland and beyond: Access to healthy food. By empowering neighbors to share in the harvest and care of urban fruit trees, we are preventing waste, building community knowledge and resources, and creating sustainable, cost-free ways to obtain healthy, locally-grown food.

Interested? Please send an email to [email protected] with ‘Harvest Leader inquiry’ in the subject line. She will send you the position description and an application form right away.  The application deadline is Wednesday, June 30th.
