Friends of Trees receives silver certification for sustainability

Friends of Trees Receives Silver CertificationBy Susie Peterson

We’ve done it! Friends of Trees has received silver certification for sustainability through the Portland Bureau of Planning and Sustainability’s Sustainability at Work program.

Sustainability is something that we at Friends of Trees have been passionate about for years. From our eco-roof to the native plantings around our office to using ceramic mugs and reusable dishware at plantings, we are always looking for ways to conserve more energy and limit the amount of disposable resources we use. We aren’t stopping here, though. We are working to receive gold certification this fall.

Thank you to Kim White, our amazing sustainability advisor at BPS, for her efforts in helping us reach this goal. If you’re interested in signing your organization up, or just learning more about this program, check out their web site at SustainabilityatWorkPDX.com.
