EarthShare Oregon, the state’s only nonprofit federation connecting Oregon businesses and their employees with environmental nonprofits, has announced its new executive director: Jan Wilson, an environmental attorney from the Western Environmental Law Center in Eugene.

Below are excerpts from EarthShare Oregon’s press release about Jan Wilson.

Jan has been involved with EarthShare Oregon for many years as a valued volunteer, through her role as a board member of Oregon Wild, one of EarthShare’s 70 member organizations.

“I’ve volunteered with EarthShare and I love connecting businesses with the environment,” Jan said. “I am so excited to have the opportunity to move into the next phase of my career, and to make that move with EarthShare Oregon.”

She has worked in environmental law for more than 10 years in the Eugene-Springfield area with several private and nonprofit organizations. Jan’s education and background are broader than just legal expertise – she also holds a degree in computer engineering from the University of Michigan.

“I fell in love with Oregon from the first day I arrived,” Jan said about her move to Oregon 15 years ago. “I knew I wanted to protect the legacy of a healthy environment for myself and my family,” Jan said. “EarthShare Oregon is the perfect place for me to continue that mission.”
