‘Tis the season for Give!Guide – a delicious way to donate

Willamette Week’s Give!Guide is an annual fundraiser for Friends of Trees + other great causes

Give!Guide runs through December 31st and is a great way to learn about organizations that are doing amazing work on behalf of people, places, critters and causes (including trees + community, of course ;). G!G features Big Give Days when donors get a shot at fabulous incentives like Trail Blazers tickets, vacation packages, and more. Please give, and THANK YOU!

What an amazing gift for the holiday season

Dear Friend of Trees,

We are thrilled to announce that Friends of Trees has received the most wonderful seasonal gift. Due in no small part to the amazing support we enjoy from people like you, we have been recognized again as one of the strongest nonprofits in our area and are included in the 2012 Willamette Week Give!Guide.

The Give!Guide is a great way to promote philanthropy, and it has been invaluable to Friends of Trees by connecting us with supporters both old and new. In addition to the generous incentives that Willamette Week is offering to all donors again this year, we are excited to announce some extra incentives just for you, our Friends of Trees family.

Let’s hit the ground running and show our community how much we care about the environment!

First, the Tree-mendous Gift Basket is BACK! The early bird gets the worm, or in this case, the early bird could get the amazing, fantastic gift basket full of all good things that grow on trees (a $150 value). Donate before midnight on Sunday, December 16, and your name will be entered to win!

In addition, new or renewing Friends of Trees members who make a donation of $35 or more will receive 25% off all of their Gift Tree dedications in the New Year–for the entire year!

Please consider a donation to Friends of Trees through the Willamette Week Give!Guide and help us continue to bring communities together to plant trees and make our world a greener, cleaner, healthier place to live and grow!

Sincerely,

All of us at Friends of Trees

Friends of Trees cordially invites one and all to take advantage of our brand new membership benefits! Become a member of Friends of Trees today. Not only do members have the benefit of knowing that they are personally contributing to community well-being through the growth of our urban canopy, but they also reap more tangible rewards.

Most notably, members at the $35 level and above enjoy brand new benefits such as 25% off all Gift Tree dedications for the entire year of their active membership and early entry into our annual spring fruit-tree giveaway! Essentially, if you dedicate only four Gift Trees over the course of a year, not only have you been able to give a unique and thoughtful gift to your loved ones, but you have also supported our Green Space Initiative AND paid for your membership. It’s a win-win-win!

If you want to help Friends of Trees in a more consistent way, consider becoming a member of our Evergreen Circle by establishing a recurring monthly donation of $10 or more per month. Not only do Evergreen Circle members keep us ‘green’ all year long, they get an awesome stainless steel Friends of Trees Klean Kanteen when they set up their recurring donation.

At Friends of Trees, membership has its benefits.

Your car can plant trees! And you can win an iPad, too.

By Emma Gray

Do you have an unneeded car, boat or RV? Put it to work planting trees. That’s right! Put a stop to the lazy ways of that car that just sits in your driveway or garage doing nothing and mocking you. Just because it is summer and school’s out, that doesn’t mean your old RV or boat can just sit around doing nothing.

Now I know what you’re thinking, “But Emma, it’s not planting season! My unwanted car shouldn’t be planting any trees until at least October.”  This is true, but if you donate your unwanted car, boat or RV to Friends of Trees during July, our generous nonprofit partner, the Center for Car Donations, will add an additional incentive. You can win an iPad! Anyone 18 or older who donates their car or boat during July is entered to win an iPad valued at $499! The winner will be drawn at random  on August 1 from all donations received by participating nonprofits.

So donate now and come October you can rest assured we’ll be putting your gift to good use planting trees in your community! The Center for Car Donations will come to wherever your vehicle is and tow it for you. The car, boat or RV does not even need to be running. All you need is a valid title. You get rid of your unwanted vehicle that is just taking up space, receive a tax deduction, and your car plants trees!

Click now and donate your car, boat or RV TODAY!

Do the KIND thing!

We've been KINDed!
We love KIND bars (FOT File)

Help plant thousands of trees in deserving communities by joining Friends of Trees and KIND Healthy Snacks in doing something KIND for the environment. Pick up some litter, water your neighbor’s thirsty tree, plant some flowers, or ride your bike. Sign up at www.KINDMovement.com, and then do something nice for Mother Earth on June 5.

If enough people sign up for this KINDness, Friends of Trees will receive a donation to support tree plantings next season. As an added bonus, the KIND food truck will be in Pioneer Courthouse Square on Tuesday, June 5, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm handing out flower seeds to help you ‘green’ your day.

For more information, or to learn more about other KIND things done lately, check out: www.KINDMovement.com
