ODOT’s Jason Tell explains why he plants trees in today’s Oregonian

12-19-10 Oregonian Ad features ODOT's Jason Tell

“I plant trees to create a new forest where economic opportunities grow and communities bloom. A place where people and goods move by foot, bike, road and rail among the trees—a healthier place, accessible to everyone.”

Today’s Oregonian O! section features a color quarter-page ad with the above message from Oregon Department of Transportation Region 1 Manager Jason Tell.

Friends of Trees is pleased to partner with ODOT, Metro and a growing group of supporters to transform our transportation corridors and the way we think about them. The project’s new tagline, “A new forest grows,” emphasizes that our state’s great resource, trees, can encourage healthy travel, healthy communities, and a healthy economy.

Please join us for plantings in 2011. All are welcome!
