Thank You, Feb. 16 Volunteers, Welcome Feb. 23 Planters

Many thanks to all who made our Feb. 16 plantings successful. At Pinebrook Creek in Tigard, 56 volunteers planted 800 native trees and plants. Keith Nevison took the photos below. Our partners were Clean Water Services and the city of Tigard.

At Happy Valley Park, 46 volunteers planted 1,325 seedling trees and native plants. Logan Lauvray took the photos below.

More than 170 volunteers helped at each of our North Portland neighborhood plantings. We planted 212 street and yard trees in the Kenton and Portsmouth neighborhoods, and 192 trees in the St. Johns, Cathedral Park, and University Park neighborhoods. Our planting partner was Portland Bureau of Environmental Services, and our event sponsors were Recology and Rigert Shade Trees.

We’ll bustle this weekend too! We’re planting more than 260 street and yard trees in West Vancouver neighborhoods in partnership with Vancouver Urban Forestry—our biggest neighborhood planting in Vancouver to date. We’re excited that our volunteers will include members of the Timbers Army Northern Alliance.

Portland General Electric is sponsoring our planting/tree care event at Memorial Park in Wilsonville, which was planned in partnership with the city of Wilsonville. We’ll also plant at King City Park in partnership with Clean Water Services.

People of all ages and abilities are invited to plant with us! Please arrive by 8:45 am in planting clothes to register and enjoy hot drinks and breakfast treats. Find directions and details on our web site calendar.

Live in the Eugene-Springfield area? Join our tree care event with Eugene Water & Electric Board (EWEB) on Feb. 22!
