Design a logo and win a native tree and other prizes!

Rock Creek near its confluence with the Clackamas River

By Kris Day

The Rock Creek Partnership needs your help in developing a logo to represent a unified identity for the watershed restoration efforts of the Clackamas River Basin Council, SOLVE, and Friends of Trees to improve stream health along Rock Creek. Deadline is Friday, February 1, 2013.

Who We Are: As a group of community-based, land stewardship organizations, the Rock Creek Partnership engages volunteers in a wide range of watershed enhancement activities. Partnership projects are generally focused on removing invasive species and planting native trees and shrubs through community work parties. We also work with students from Rock Creek Middle School and Clackamas High School on year-round service learning projects. Additionally, we host an annual Watershed Wide Event during which several project sites are worked on simultaneously—a volunteer work day complete with breakfast and lunch that begins and ends at the renowned Pendarvis Farm.

What We Are Looking For: We’re seeking a clear, simple graphic that represents our community restoration work. Ideally, the logo will fit in a square or circular shape and can be reduced to 2” in diameter without losing readability. Also, the fewer colors, the better for reproduction.

Prizes: The winning design will become the new logo (or the basis of the new logo) of our quasi-organization and will be featured on the Rock Creek Partnership web site and in any print materials we produce. The designer will win a suite of sweet gifts from the Partnership organizations (a Klean Kanteen stainless steel water bottle, a reusable tote bag, a Tree Team T-shirt, and a native tree), plus bragging rights, of course! We will also recognize a runner-up design and will award its designer as well.

How To Enter: Hand draw and scan your design or use a graphic computer program to create one, and then send your submissions electronically to [email protected] in either a .JPG or .PDF file type.
