Crew Leader
Online Training

Welcome to the Friends of Trees Crew Leader Training Portal. Thank you for joining Friends of Trees as a Crew Leader to help plant 3,000 trees in neighborhoods around our region this season. We really appreciate that you are taking the time to complete this training at home, and we’re looking forward to meeting you at your first planting soon!

These training modules are open until 11/10/23. Once you’ve completed the online training, we’ll see you at the in-person November training/planting.

- CL Training Overview

This training is presented by Friends of Trees staff members Mario Catani, Haley Miller, Ian Bonham, Rudy Roquemore and Christine Smith. An outline of the training is below:

1. Review Three Instructional Modules
2. Complete a short Training Review
  • The Training Review [10 min] will let us know that we’ve communicated key concepts clearly.
  • When you submit your review, we’ll know you’ve completed the training so that we can send you a list of plantings to choose from.
3. Attend an in-person training/planting!
  • Put your newfound knowledge into practice at an in-person training/planting! This is a unique style of planting where you will spend the morning learning about our program and how to properly plant a large stock tree. In the afternoon, you will plant and learn alongside other trainees, community volunteer planters and veteran crew leaders.
  • You will need to complete the online training review before attending the in-person training.
