Characteristics:
Small, deciduous tree with rounded, wide-spreading habit.

Growing Conditions:
Requires full sun to partial shade, prefers moist, deep, acidic soils that are well-drained. Tree is fairly adaptable and requires little maintenance once established.

Uses:
Showy flowers followed by fruit attractive to birds. Drought tolerant once established.

Snow white, fragrant flowers bloom in clusters at ends of branches in June.

Leaves:

Bark:
Deeply grooved and brownish gray with lenticels.

Native of China, Korea and Japan.
