Long, oval leaves. Bright green and glossy. Pointed at the end.
Brown-gray becoming platy.
Cold hardy, drought resistant, heat tolerant. Susceptible to fire blight and codling moth. Fruit should be thinned to one per spur. Plant 2 varieties for best pollination. Harvest 2nd year. Hosui, the Japanese name, means "Much Water" in English.
