Quercus frainetto 'Schmidt'
Medium-sized, fast-growing oak with outstanding deep green, glossy foliage. Broadleaf deciduous tree with upright-oval habit. The name 'Schmidt' refers to the nursery, J. Frank Schmidt, where it was cultivated in Oregon.
Full sun, drought resistant, is also very adaptable and can thrive in urban environments.
Ideal as a focal point in home landscapes. Great tree for wildlife.

Small and inconspicuous.
Handsome, large, glossy, leathery, dark green leaves with an intricate pattern of lobes and deeply rounded teeth, turning yellow in fall.
Ash brown, ridged and furrowed.
Parent is native of southeastern Europe and southwestern Asia. Cultivar developed in Oregon.
