Bark:

Fall color yellow-orange to bright red. Developed by Keith Warren at J. Frank Schmidt Nursery, Boring, Oregon and introduced in 1989, a cross of Acer truncatum and Acer platanoides. Pacific Sunset in comparison to a related cultivar, Norwegian Sunset, is slightly shorter, has a finer branch structure, is more spreading, and slightly brighter fall color.
