Cercis canadensis 'Merlot'
It's a great street tree for smaller spaces due to its compact form. The glossy leaves reportedly slow water loss during hot weather, making this tree better adapted to dry summers of the Pacific Northwest.
This tree does well in most soil types, but prefers moist, well-drained soils.
