Leaves:
dark green summer, yellow to purple in autumn

Bark:
Pale brown to gray-brown, older bark develops a flaky character and as sacles fall odd a brown or orange-brown bark is exposed

Native to southeast Europe and southwest Asia, from the Balkans through northern Turkey to northern Iran.
