Characteristics:
Small, broadleaf deciduous tree with rounded growth habit and attractive light pink flowers.

Growing Conditions:
Prefers sun or part shade. Grows best in moist, well-drained, slightly acidic, highly organic soil. Weekly watering during the first three summers is necessary for survival.

Uses:
Good ornamental tree with fragrant flowers followed by white fruit that lasts into fall.

Smooth, gray-brown, becoming orangish-brown, fissured and more attractive with age.

Parent is native to China and Japan. Flowers may attract bees.
