Ecopalooza!

Join Friends of Trees at Ecopalooza on August 7 (Ecopalooza)

By Andy Meeks

Join Friends of Trees at the free Ecopalooza concert on Saturday, August 7, at Fernhill Park. The concert will raise environmental awareness and promote conservation and alternative energy.

The concert’s pollution-free, solar-powered stage by Sustainable Waves will generate all of the energy needed for the concert with state of the art sound quality. The event will raise funds for Friends of Trees and the Beaverton-based Minority Information Outreach.

Friends of Trees Volunteer & Outreach Manager Greg Tudor was recently highlighted in an excellent article by our friends at Ecopalooza. Below is a short excerpt.

“We really focus on growing healthy communities and we really see ourselves as a community building organization that plants trees rather than a tree planting organization,” says Greg. “We work really hard to make sure that it’s neighborhood focused and that at the end of the day we haven’t just put trees in the ground, but that we’ve introduced neighbors to each other, that we’ve maybe alerted people to services or issues they previously didn’t know about.”
