Show your support for all that trees are and do at Arbor Week events all over the Portland-Vancouver and Eugene-Springfield metro regions during the month of April! Participate in one of the tree plantings, care workshops, or tree-centric social events highlighting the roles trees play in our communities.

Friends of Trees will host three planting events on Saturday, April 7, in Portland, Beaverton and Eugene. Join us in celebrating the benefits of trees in our urban environment at one of these plantings:

April 7
8:45 am to 12:00 noon

Friends of Trees Neighborhood Greenway Planting
SE 86th Avenue and SE 87th Avenue
Help Friends of Trees “Green the Greenways” by assisting in planting trees along the bike boulevard running from NE Hassalo to SE Bush streets. For more information, visit www.FriendsofTrees.org/Calendar.

Beaverton Arbor Day Neighborhood Planting

Friends of Trees will celebrate Arbor Day by leading volunteers at a neighborhood planting in Beaverton. The planting is sponsored by Symantec and Epson-Portland and is organized in partnership with the City of Beaverton. To learn more, visit www.FriendsofTrees.org/Calendar.

Friends of Trees Arbor Day Planting in Eugene
Jefferson Park, Eugene

Eugene Mayor Kitty Piercy will welcome planting volunteers, and the Oregon Dept. of Forestry will present the Arbor Day Foundation’s Tree City USA Award to the City of Eugene. After the presentation, Friends of Trees will lead volunteers in planting trees in Jefferson Park and in nearby neighborhoods. The planting is sponsored by NW Natural and held in partnership with the the City of Eugene, Eugene Water & Electric Board (EWEB), Lane County Fairgrounds, and Jefferson Westside Neighbors. Community volunteers will include teams of planters from the University of Oregon. The morning will wrap up with a barbecue potluck provided by NW Natural.
