Organic land care training begins today

Oregon Tilth, in partnership with Clackamas Community College, is offering a five-day training from January 23 to 27 on organic land care accreditation for landscape professionals. The training includes a keynote presentation by Jeff Lownfels,  an international leader in the soil food web movement and author of “Teaming with Microbes, A Gardener’s Guide to The Soil Food Web.”

The training is being held in Clairmont Hall, Room C-118, at Clackamas Community College, Oregon City Campus, 19600 Molalla Avenue, Oregon City. Presentations will focus on integrated pest management, soil building, sustainable landscape design, organic weed management, marketing organic land care, stormwater management, tree care, sustainable resources, and more.

Participants who complete the training, pass an examination, and agree to program policies will be eligible for Oregon Tilth Organic Land Care Accreditation. The training costs $550, and the examination fee is $100.
