Neighborhood TreesPeople who plant with Friends of Trees enjoy meeting neighbors during the morning and sharing a potluck lunch afterward. Our YouTube videos show how much fun it is to plant with us. Plantings are scheduled every weekend from now through March. Volunteers of all ages and abilities are welcome. Through the Neighborhood Trees program, Friends of Trees offers homeowners high-quality, low-cost street and yard trees. For $25 to $75 - sometimes less - you receive a tree, delivery, hole digging, planting assistance, mulch, stakes, and follow-up maintenance checks, a $200 value. Tree costs vary depending on the grants Friends of Trees can secure for each neighborhood. We provide trees at less than half, sometimes less than five percent, of the actual cost of the tree. To make this possible, we rely on grants, donations, community support, and members. Residents living in neighborhoods where Friends of Trees schedules plantings can order trees for their homes between July and February. Check our web site this summer to see if we're planting in your neighborhood next fall or winter, and sign up early to order your trees. If you'd like to organize a planting in your neighborhood, please join us for our Neighborhood Coordinator Training this summer.
