Friends of Trees and its Neighborhood Trees program planted 175 street and yard trees in Vancouver Feb. 27.
Over 100 volunteers came to the multi-neighborhood planting, which was sponsored by Northwest Natural.

Friends of Trees and its Neighborhood Trees (NT) program planted 178 trees the Saturday before Valentine’s Day, 20 of which went in on Oregon Department of Transportation land at N. Michigan and N. Skidmore.
The majority of street and yard trees planted went to homes in the Boise, Eliot, Humboldt and King neighborhoods.

Thanks to watchful neighbors and one coincidental Google mapping vehicle, three people have been charged with illegally removing trees in Vancouver, Canada.
As seen on the Google map image from the property at 6060 Olympic St., a total of 23 cedar cypress and evergreen trees were cut down along a fence line.

The Portland Fruit Tree Project (PFTP) is expanding its winter pruning efforts to a year-round Tree Stewardship Program.
The more tree stewards, the better.
Winter pruning workshops will run this month and next month. Fruit tree selection and planting workshops begin in March, with other seasonal workshops to follow.
