Old Black Walnut trees removed in Salem

Six giant Black Walnut trees were felled yesterday on the Oregon State Hospital campus in Salem to make room for power lines and an improved intersection, reported The Statesman Journal.
The trees were estimated to be between 75 and 100 years old.

Tribune reports trees cut in Milwaukie

The Portland Tribune reported yesterday that several large street trees in downtown Milwaukie were cut down recently in an effort to improve the block.
Google street imaging allows one to see the precise trees in question and their full size.

The Portland Plan: Urban forestry chapter

Trees vs. Development: N. Williams Ave. (updated)

Retail space beneath 18 eco-friendly apartments is coming to the 3900 block of the bike boulevard N. Williams Ave.

Woodburn residents pay up for street trees

Residents of a subdivision in Woodburn will soon be billed anywhere from $500 to $1,100 for street tree removals and replacements, reported The Woodburn Independent Tuesday.

Trees vs. Development: North Williams Ave.

What used to be an old auto shop that also sold lawn mowers outside (see Google map) is now gone, leaving only a miniature earth moving machine and some trees in peril.
