Local elementary students create Arbor Day art

Vancouver elementary students won second and third place in the Washington State Arbor Day Poster contest.
Stella Won took second place and Ciana Yi third with their artwork depicting this year’s theme, “Trees are Terrific…and Energy Wise.” Both students attend Fisher’s Landing Elementary School.

Local artist makes ‘Friends of Trees’ print

A local artist is selling a screen-print called “Friends of Trees” online.
Dan Stiles said there is no direct connection to Friends of Trees, the famous Northeast Portland nonprofit organization that is replanting Portland’s urban forest.

Guggenheim in N.Y. exhibits “Tree Planting”

A new photograph exhibit at the Guggenheim Museum in New York features a series of photos called “Tree Planting,” reports The New York Times.

Crochet tree coming to Portland Building

As part of a rotating installation art program at The Portland Building downtown, a local artist will introduce a life-size paper dress called the Mother Tree next month.

New book finds art inspiration in trees
