Planting the Future in Salem

Friends of Trees is gearing up for a massive season of trees in Salem and our first priority is to make sure that all trees have what they need to succeed. This means we need YOU! Yep, you! We are actively recruiting volunteers to be a part of our volunteer Crew Leader team in Salem to plant trees, teach others, play outside, and make a long-lasting contribution to Salem‘s urban forest and green landscape.

Friends of Trees offers top notch planting events that are fun and educational thanks to our volunteer Crew Leaders. Crew Leaders are trained in proper planting technique, basic tree health, and inclusive group facilitation styles. All Crew Leaders are expected to attend 3-4 Friends of Trees Saturday planting events during the planting season which runs October-April.

Are you into trees? Into being outdoors? Meeting new people? Interested in turning Salem’s parks, neighborhoods, and natural areas into flourishing sanctuaries for all residents? If so, you could be a perfect volunteer for our Crew Leader team!

Salem Crew Leader training is on Saturday, October 22nd from 9am – 3pm. Training is free but registration is required. Breakfast treats and lunch are provided.
