Four Vancouver plantings grow canopy, awareness
By Jesse Batty
This past Saturday, Friends of Trees planted 58 trees in the Fircrest, Marrion, Burton Ridge, Ogden and Oakbrook neighborhoods.
Saturday was a beautiful day and a great time was enjoyed by all. We had a great staging site—The Salvation Army Center for Worship & Service—and we were able to plant a beautiful new Tulip Tree right on site!
This was the fourth and final Neighborhood Trees planting this year in Vancouver. About 380 street and yard trees were planted over the course of the four plantings, which will go a long ways towards restoring Vancouver’s tree canopy.
The City of Vancouver is looking forward to planting even more trees with Friends of Trees next year and continuing their great partnership!

Our heartfelt appreciation goes out to FOT and all that participated in the plantings last Sat. We learned many things to help keep our “green friends” growing strong.
Thank you from Fircrest Neighborhood Association.

Thanks to you Becky! We couldn’t have done it without the great support from Fircrest. We’re already looking forward to planting again in Fircrest next year!
