If a tree gets chopped down in a city…
This from KCBS news in the Bay Area, regarding the more than 60 trees that were inexplicably removed from a busy shopping district.
“It was a very stupid, and thoughtless thing that they did,” said one woman quoted in the story. “Stupid to take them down, and to take them down all at once, and not to have more input.”
Apparently business owners are also upset with the city’s beautification process.
In local tree news, the above stump comes from the Doug Fir restaurant and bar on SE Burnside and 9th.
If a large-caliper street tree is cut down in a city and nobody asks why, did it really happen?
Burnside has street trees of varying sizes–did the tree in front of the hot night spot and music venue become ill?
